Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
Today March 9, 2018 I am seriously focusing my attention on doing a handstand away from the wall. I started working on handstand when I turned 50. Yes, probably a little late in life to start working on such feats, but prior to turning 50 I wouldn’t even attempt to kick up at the wall, let alone away from it. Five year later, I’m much more proficient at kicking up to the wall without banging into it and I can even pull my feet away for a few seconds, but kicking up in the middle of the room eludes me. For a while, knowing I could kick up without making a fool of myself was comfort enough, but now I’ve decided that after five years of building up my confidence, it’s time for me to move away from the wall and explore the joys of handstands without a prop. My goal: handstands away from the wall before my 56 birthday. I have 155 days to complete it.
