About Me

I'm a grandma, motivational speaker, and yoga instructor who, at the age of 50, decided to learn how to do a handstand.

Keep in mind I’d never done a handstand in my life — even as a child — and avoided situations (yoga workshops, etc.) where I might be encouraged to try kicking up. But handstanding became a bit of an obsession for me, and after eight years of working and practicing, I learned how to do a handstand away from the wall! In the meantime, I also sharpened my style skills, and fashion became an important part of my life. I’m sharing my journey in the hopes that it will motivate others to pursue their goals and love their clothes — no matter what their age or obstacles.

April Nading is also a writer, wife, mother, and grandmother. Also known as Handstanding Grandma, April kicks up into handstands daily and leads workshops encouraging others as they embark on their handstand journey. She resides in southern Indiana with her husband Aran and their dog Riley.
